Showing at Artomatic

Three of our members
exibited at this years Artomatic

Artomatic is a month-long art festival in Washington DC that’s free to the general public celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The event is housed in a brand-new 275,000 square foot building, right next to the Nationals Stadium. Artomatic features nine floors of visual and installation art, theater performances, dance and comedy, three music stages, street performances such as fire dancing and drum troupes, and a film screening theater. Workshops and seminars are held all month long and special events are hosted there. Over 1,000 visual artists and 600 performing artists are exhibiting this year.

This year three members of the Kingstowne Area Artists Association took part in this event, Stephanie Bianco a photographer, Reginald Garrett an oil painter, and Amy Tubbs who works in acrylic and latex were exhibitors. This was Stephanie’s first time showing at this huge art happening.  She says she loves the sense of community among the artists. Reggie has shown at Artomatic for each of the past 3 years. He says he looks forward to seeing old friends and fellow artists and finding out what new directions they’ve taken in their art.
